Biography

Academic Qualifications:

PhD, Engineering Sciences - Underground Mining of mineral deposits
Mining Engineering -Underground mining of mineral deposits.
Advanced levels, Donetsk State University, Ukraine.
GCE Certificate, division one (Isoka Boys Secondary School)

Holds an MSc. in Mining Engineering (Metalliferous Mining - Underground Mining) and a PhD in Engineering Sciences in Mining Engineering (Metalliferous Underground Mining). He has over 20 years of teaching experience at the University of Zambia and 5 years of Industrial experience. Dr. Mutambo has also worked at the Universities of Zimbabwe, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mining Engineering (2005- 2008) and Namibia, Faculty of Engineering and Technology (2010- 2016) as invited Lecturer. In addition, Dr. Mutambo has previously served as an External Examiner for the University of Dar-es-salaam, Department of Chemical and Mining Engineering, Midlands State University, Gweru, Zimbabwe, and the University of South Africa. He has supervised and graduated more than 12 Masters students and one PhD candidate. Before joining the University of Zambia, he worked as a Mining Planning Engineer at Kirov mine and as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development from 2011 to 2014. Dr. Mutambo has published more than 25 papers in peer-reviewed journals, more than 19 papers in refereed conference proceedings, 2 Monographs/Books, and 1 Book chapter. Dr. Mutambo has also undertaken several local and international consultancies in the mining and related industries.
