About the School

There has been a growing demand from the market for the University of Zambia to offer business courses. As a response to this, an Adhoc Committee was formed to spearhead the formation of the Graduate School of Business. The said Committee completed its work in April 2015 and recommended the launch of the Graduate School of Business. Thus, as part of the remodelling of Income Generation (RIG), the Graduate School of Business was launched by the then Minister of Higher Education Hon Michael Kaingu on 31st August 2015 at the Intercontinental Hotel. The Graduate School of Business set off with twelve postgraduate programmes five of which are delivered under the 100 percent online. Additionally, the Graduate School of Business set out with five undergraduate market-driven programmes. In March 2017, the Graduate School of Business launched the PhD in Business and Management programme. Today, the Graduate School of Business has over 900 undergraduate and postgraduate students studying across the blended learning, 100 percent online and full-time mode of delivery.
