The student must register for 5 courses. The following are the compulsory courses:

  • Advanced Legal Skills
  • Legal Reasoning and Argumentation
  • Integrated Skills Projects

For specialization, a student has to select two other courses in addition to the compulsory courses.

a) Commercial Law

  • Commercial Court Ligigation
  • General Principles of Contract Drafting

b) Constitutional Law (select any two from the five (5) elective courses)

  • Democratization and Politics in Africa
  • Comparative Constitutional Law in Africa
  • Elections and Electoral Systems in Africa
  • African Human Rights Law

c) General LLM

  • Any of the three(3) compulsory courses, and
  • Any of the other two courses on offer

Two-year Master of Laws (Research)

  • Legal Research Methods (compulsory first-year course)
  • Dissertation
