The School of Nursing Sciences
The School of Nursing Sciences was established as an independent School of the University of Zambia on 1st January 2017 following the Division of the former School of Medicine. Previously, the school of Nursing Sciences was a Department within the School of Medicine known as the “Department of Nursing Sciences” the name it acquired in May 2009. Prior to the name the department was called the Department of Post Basic Nursing.
The decision to change the name was prompted by the enrolment of Generic or Direct-entry BSc Nursing students hence, post-basic was no longer appropriate.
