The students spend the first year in the School of Natural Sciences and then come to Engineering in second year when they do a General Engineering programme. Specialization begins in third year as indicated for each department.

Note: Upon successful completion of the Second year, students are allocated quotas of their choice. When a particular quota is full, a cut-off point is used to select students based on their performance in all the Second year courses.
